We believe the way an animal is raised matters, both for the animal and for the food that ends up on your table.
Our meat chickens spend their growing season outside on grass where they have room to move, forage, scratch and explore.
They also receive a balanced corn- and soy-free ration that we mix right here on the farm.
The goal is simple:
Raise healthy birds well and produce chicken we're proud to feed our own family.

Pasture Raised
Our birds are raised outdoors on grass with room to move, scratch and forage.

Corn & Soy Free
Their balanced ration contains no corn or soy and is mixed here on the farm.

Family Raised
We care for the birds ourselves from chick to processing day.

Local
Raised right here in Wheatland County near Strathmore, Alberta.
Chicken is one of the most versatile foods you can keep in your freezer.
Roast it whole, smoke it, put it on the barbecue or break it down into breasts, thighs, wings and drumsticks.
And when the meal is finished, the carcass can become stock or soup.
One bird. A lot of meals.

Our Cornish Cross chickens receive a nutritionally balanced corn- and soy-free ration mixed on our farm.
While outside, they also have the opportunity to forage through the grass, peck at plants, scratch through the soil and hunt for insects.
We want our customers to know how their food was raised, including what went into feeding it.
Our first pasture-raised whole chickens will be available in Spring 2027.
Most finished birds are expected to weigh approximately 5–6 lb dressed.
And we've put a cap on the price:
If your chicken weighs more than 6 lb, you will only be charged for 6 lb.
That means the maximum chicken price at our current rate is: $39 per bird
Final weights naturally vary from bird to bird.
Current Price:
$6.50/ lb

Stock the freezer without taking up too much room.

A better option for families who use chicken regularly and want more on hand.
Availability will be limited by the number of birds we raise each batch.
Pre-ordering is the best way to make sure you get the number of chickens you want. Once a batch is spoken for, additional birds may not be available until the next processing date.

We describe our meat chickens as pasture raised.
They are raised outdoors on grass where they have room to move, forage, scratch and explore rather than spending their growing period confined indoors.
We raise Cornish Cross chickens.
Cornish Cross are specifically bred as meat birds and produce a well-proportioned whole chicken with plenty of breast, thigh and leg meat.
Our chickens receive a balanced corn- and soy-free ration mixed right here on our farm.
They also have access to pasture where they can forage for grass, plants and insects.
We expect most finished birds to weigh approximately 5–6 lb dressed.
Individual birds naturally vary in size.
You won't pay any extra.
We cap the billable weight at 6 lb per chicken, even if your finished bird weighs more.
At $6.50/lb, that means the maximum price per bird is $39.
Yes.
Our chickens will be processed through a provincially inspected processing facility and packaged ready for your freezer.
No. We are not certified organic.
Instead, we focus on practices we can be transparent about: pasture access, animal welfare, a corn- and soy-free ration, responsible care and knowing exactly how the birds are raised.
Our first pasture-raised whole chickens are planned for Spring 2027.
Production will be limited, so preordering is the best way to secure birds from the first batches.
Choose the quantity you want and place your preorder through our Farm Store.
Your deposit reserves your birds, with the remaining balance due once final processed weights are known.
