How Much Pork Will I Get?

A whole hog provides a delicious variety of cuts and products, including:

Pork chops and steaks
Roasts and tenderloins
Ribs
Ground pork
Bacon and ham
Sausages in a variety of flavours, depending on your preferences and the butcher's available options

Your final quantity and selection of cuts will depend on the size of the animal and your cutting and processing preferences.

Hanging weight (also called rail weight) is the weight of the dressed carcass before it is cut and packaged. The amount of pork you take home will be less than the hanging weight due to bones, trimming, moisture loss, and processing.

New to Buying a Whole Hog?

Not sure what hanging weight means, how much freezer space you'll need, or what cuts you'll receive?

We've put together a complete guide explaining the process, from choosing your cuts to getting your pork home.

What Will My Whole Hog Cost?

Our heritage pork is priced at $6.00 per pound of hanging weight, plus butcher costs.

Your final pork price will be calculated using the actual hanging weight of your whole hog.

For example, if your whole hog has a hanging weight of 180 lbs:

Pork: 180 lbs × $6.00 = $1,080.00
Cutting, wrapping, and any additional butcher services: Extra
Your $400 deposit: Deducted from your pork purchase
Remaining pork balance: $680.00, plus butcher charges

Cutting and wrapping charges vary depending on your processing selections. Additional services such as sausage making, curing, and smoking may carry extra charges. We'll provide details about these costs before your hog is processed.

Monthly Payment Plans Available!

Want to fill your freezer with premium pork without paying the entire balance at once? We've got you covered!

After placing your $400 deposit, you can arrange monthly payments leading up to Fall 2027.

Each payment goes directly toward your final pork purchase, helping you spread the cost over several months rather than paying one larger amount when your hog is ready.

We'll work with you to establish a payment schedule that fits your budget. There is no additional charge for choosing a monthly payment plan.

Because your final hanging weight and butcher costs won't be known until processing, any outstanding balance will be calculated once your pork is ready.

Interested in a payment plan? Simply contact us after placing your deposit, and we'll help you get started.

From Our Farm to Your Freezer

Once your hog is ready for processing, we'll coordinate with our inspected butcher to prepare your pork. You'll have the opportunity to discuss your preferred cuts, sausage flavours, and other processing options, depending on the processor's available services.

Whether you're after thick-cut pork chops, delicious roasts, flavourful sausages, or bacon for Sunday mornings, we'll help you understand your options.

We'll keep you updated as processing approaches and confirm arrangements for receiving your pork.

Important: This purchase is a preorder deposit, not the full purchase price. Final hanging weights and availability may vary. Cutting, wrapping, sausage making, curing, smoking, and other applicable butcher charges are additional to the $6.00/lb pork price.

All pork intended for retail sale will be processed through an inspected facility. We'll confirm the final balance and arrange pickup or delivery when your order is ready.
